What Did I Do On Deepavali?

Diwali is the most important and significant festival for the people of Hindu religion. It has many rituals, traditional and cultural beliefs of celebrating it. It is celebrated all over the country as well as outside the country with great enthusiasm. This festival is associated with many stories and legends. One of the great legends behind celebrating it is the victory of Lord Rama over the demon king Ravana. That’s why Diwali is celebrated as a symbol of victory of goodness over the badness.
We celebrate it by getting together with our relatives as well as nearest and dearest ones. They celebrate it by sharing gifts, sweets, greetings and best wishes for Diwali. They enjoy a lot of activities, playing games, firing crackers, puja and many more. We purchase new clothes for all the family members according to their own capability. Kids enjoy this festival by wearing glittering and blazing clothes.
We enlighten our home and pathways with the clay diyas to remove the single bit of the darkness and to welcome the Goddess Lakshmi. People indulge in playing games, eating a variety of dishes at home and many more activities. Government offices are also involved in getting clean up and decorated. Everywhere looks enchanting and enthralling because of the cleaning, white washing of walls, decoration and lighting with diyas or candle.
In the evening, after the sunset men and women perform puja of the Goddess of wealth, Lakshmi and God of wisdom, Ganesh. We cleaned up the decoration, lighting diyas because they are necessary at this day as Goddess Lakshmi come to visit the houses of everyone. It is celebrated all over the India as a symbolization of the unity.

Summarize Article (Lesson 5)

Facebook has great potential for our purposes, and just over half of those surveyed already have a Facebook Page for their University.

MySpace is not only loosing ground with the general population in terms of the number of active users, but it’s also not popularly used in higher education.

YouTube has enormous capabilities and potential. This is an area where you can really see a lot of ROI with no real post-production costs and an infinite audience (vs. creating CDs/DVDs, paying for postage to mail, distributing at fairs, etc.).

Higher education hasn’t quite found the right niche for Twitter yet. It has great potential in the future, and there are a few ideas floating out there that may take off in the coming months – it will be interesting to see how this plays out.

In this guide I discuss concerns and implications for adopting (or not) social media, and illustrate some best practices in the higher education industry.

Social Media has turned into a way of life for the younger generation and it is working its way into the main stream as well. Just like when the this whole "internet" thing started. You either embraced it or you got passed by.

Abstract

This purpose of this research is to investigate, explore and analyse the users of Youtube in the university community. The objective of this study is to learn about the behaviour of Youtube users. Once the results are in the researcher will proceed to collect the result and make it into charts and table for easier analysation. The findings of the research will be useful not only to designers but also to the public.

Introduction

YouTube is an American video sharing site headquartered in San Bruno, California. The administration was made by three previous PayPal representatives, Chad Hurley, Steve Chen, and Jawed Karim in February 2005. Google purchased the site in November 2006 for US$1.65 billion; YouTube now works as one of Google's backups.

It offers a wide assortment of client produced and corporate media recordings. Wordpress VS Bloggers

1. Ownership

Blogger is a blogging service provided by the tech giant Google. It is free, reliable most of the time, and quite enough to publish your stuff on the web. However, it is not owned by you. Google runs this service and has the right to shut it down, or shutdown your access to it at any time.
With WordPress, you use a WordPress hosting provider to host your own site. You are free to decide how long you want to run it and when you want to shut it down. You own all your data, and you control what information you share with any third party.

2. Control

Blogger is a fine tuned service with very limited tools allowing you to perform only specific tasks on your website. The things you can do on your blogspot blog are limited, and there is no way you can extend them to meet a need.
WordPress is an open source software, so you can easily extend it to add new features. There are thousands of WordPress plugins allowing you to modify and extend the default feature set such as adding a store to your website, creating portfolio, etc.
When comparing WordPress vs Blogger for business websites, then WordPress is hands down the best long-term solution for any serious business owner.

3. Appearance

Blogger by default only provides a limited set of templates to use. You can modify the colors and layout of these templates using the built-in tools, but you cannot create your own layouts or make modifications. There are some non-official Blogger templates available, but those templates are usually very low quality.
There are thousands of free and premium WordPress themes which allow you to create professional looking websites. There is a WordPress theme for just about every kind of website. No matter what your site is about, you will find plenty of high quality themes which are easy to modify and customize.

4. Portability

Moving your site from Blogger to a different platform is a complicated task. There is a significant risk that you will lose your SEO (search engine rankings(, subscribers, and followers during the move. Even though blogger allows you to export your content, your data will stay on Google’s servers for a very long time.
Using WordPress, you can move your site anywhere you want. You can move your WordPress site to a new hostchange domain name, or even move your site to other content management systems.
Also if you compare WordPress vs Blogger SEO, then WordPress offers way more SEO advantages.

5. Security

Using Blogger you have the added advantage of Google’s robust secure platform. You don’t need to worry about managing your server’s resources, securing your blog, or creating backups.
WordPress is quite secure, but since it is a self hosted solution you are responsible for security and backups. There are plenty of WordPress plugins that make it easier for you.

6. Support

There is limited support available for Blogger. They have a very basic documentation and a user’s forum. In terms of support, your choices are very limited.
WordPress has a very active community support system. There is online documentation, community forums, and IRC chatrooms where you can get help from experienced WordPress users and developers. Apart from community support, there are many companies offering premium support for WordPress.

7. Future

Blogger has not seen any major update since a very long time. We have seen Google kill their popular services such as Google Reader, Adsense for feeds, and the possible demise of FeedBurner. Future of Blogger depends on Google, and they have the right to shut it down whenever they want.

How can Millennials Change the World?

1. They challenge us to think qualitatively instead of quantitatively.

Quality has fewer limits than quantity. Why not focus on economic justice, or more tolerance for differing points of view? Less polarization could be refreshing.  As one of Ukleja's friends put it, "The radical middle is between the 'left over left' and the 'self-righteous right.'" Or how about revisiting our education system to make sure real learning is taking place? Why not focus on preparing students for the workplace of the future? Does our instruction take place in the context of a global economy? This new generation demands this kind of thinking. It's a good demand and will help define how success will be defined in the future.
Think quality instead of quantity.

2. They challenge old assumptions about careers and jobs.

Getting employment and loyally working for a company until we can comfortably retire has been thrown into question. Staying with one company is not the top consideration of a career. And neither is the sole emphasis on the bottom line. There is a strong expectation for businesses to expand the impact they are making. Their role in the world includes improving it for the better. Millennials have a strong sense of this.
Think contribution instead of consumption.

3. They challenge "one size fits all."

Learning processes will be customized. Some of us grew up with television. This new generation has grown up with something in their hand--smartphones that let them communicate, compute, and much more. Over the next few years, many of these devices will be used in the classroom. It will be possible to monitor how fast students are learning. They will be able to learn at their own speed. This will prevent someone from falling into the gaps of the educational system, while at the same time not holding another back. The pace will be customized to the learner. Today, when I purchase my music, I no longer have to buy the entire CD. I can design my own. Instructors will be able to do the same thing--providing more customization in learning along with the basics.
Think "guide on the side" instead of "sage on the stage."

4. They challenge us to make decision making more distributive.

Until recent years, it was customary for business decisions to be made at the top of organizations because that's where the information was collected. Today, there is a pipeline of information available to everyone. The skills for making decisions need to be dynamic--not static. This is necessary to keep up with the normalcy of rapid change. There are a lot of firsts with the Millennial generation that make this essential.
It's the first generation that...
· Doesn't need an authority figure to access information
· Enjoys external stimuli at their fingertips 24/7
· Is in social contact at all times
· Will learn more from a portable device than a seminar
As a result, leadership will rise more organically, and distributed decision making will help grow and leverage that leadership. Millennials have worked in groups collaborating with others their entire lives. It was organic and unfettered by an obsolete hierarchical system.
